How it began!

November 2016 we sold our home (of 15 years) in Firestone, Colorado. We are empty nesters and felt the house was too large. We wanted to start the next chapter of our life and purchased 5 acres in Keenesburg, Colorado. When we sold our home we moved into our 33 ft. Laredo travel trailer and moved into an RV Park in the country. We began the process of designing our new home we were going to live in the rest of our lives.

Springtime in the Rockies!

We moved our Travel trailer to our land in June. This gives a whole new meaning to the word boon docking. We hauled in water, out sewer, and generated electricity with our Honda generator. Long Story Short! We were enjoying living in our Travel trailer. All our 3,000 square foot household items were in storage.

What do we do now?

After meeting with three builders we felt God leading us in a new direction. We questioned the direction as we were involved in Ministries in our Church that we loved serving in. We have family in Colorado and I worked in Downtown Denver. We found ourselves asking God…Really?

Fall begins!

October 2017 we closed our travel trailer and went to Texas to help family for 4 months. I worked remotely during that time. We were praying for God’s direction when we returned to Colorado. God had provided a replacement in the ministries we served in. We continued to pray and felt God leading us in this new direction of full time RV living. We returned to Colorado, sold our land, upgraded our truck, trailer and locked the storage unit and hit the road.

The hardest decision was our Son and his family were still in Colorado. Our family supported us in our decision and cheered us on. We always dreamed of traveling in an RV across the country when we retired. I did not believe it could be a reality while I was working. 7 months later…
Here we are!

We have always had a passion for working in children’s ministry in our Church. It is our desire to serve God where ever He leads us.

Our grandchildren know us as Papa D and Mama D. We miss them so much. We are starting Mama D’s Clubhouse, an online reading and video book club for children. We want to share our adventures along the way with our grandchildren through reading books to them. Join Mama D in her Fort with her special backpack and come along on our adventure story time.
